At Children’s Health, the little red balloon floating next to our name is small but powerful – just like our patients. This red balloon unites the might of academic medicine with the breadth of specialty expertise to offer clinical care without a ceiling. When combined with the power of families and our donors, we are incredible together.

The support of countless people over the years has proven that what we dream of today can become a reality tomorrow. You can help make the impossible possible for the next generation of kids at Children’s Health.

During this special season, help us make some of our patients’ biggest wishes – to play football, to walk again – come true.

  • Eleanor’s wish: To thrive and get into all the things.

Hours after she was born with a congenital heart defect that turned her color purple, Eleanor was flown to Children’s Health for lifesaving treatment. The team at Children’s Health gave Eleanor the care she needed, and at the same time took care of Laura, Eleanor’s, mom after just delivering a baby.

  • Clayton’s wish: To be a cancer research scientist.

Diagnosed at 3-years old, Clayton’s cancer diagnosis did not stifle his sense of humor and the joy he brought to his nurses and “naughty” phlebotomists. His parents are fierce champions for philanthropy and pediatric cancer research.

  • Serenity's wish: To walk again.

When Serenity couldn’t move her neck or arm, her family found a home and answers for their little ‘firecracker’ at Children’s Health where she receives a host of special support in the form of high-quality therapy and regular home health therapy. Now, two years later, Serenity is still improving and has a bright personality and creativity.

  • Ricky's wish: To play football again.

When his legs hurt too much to run, Ricky found a team at Children’s Health as he tackled leukemia. And when Ricky was battling cancer, Children’s Health was there to support his mom and three sisters. Ricky can’t wait until the day he finishes treatment and can finally run without getting tired.

The Rees-Jones Foundation gives $100 million gift to support the new Dallas pediatric campus

Children’s Health and UT Southwestern announced a $100 million gift from The Rees-Jones Foundation to support the construction of the new Dallas pediatric campus that will replace the existing Children’s Medical Center Dallas. The incredible gift was revealed at the groundbreaking ceremony for the $5 billion campus.

This milestone gift marks the first time in Texas that a nonprofit construction project has received two individual leadership gifts of $100 million. A $100 million gift from the Jean and Mack Pogue family was announced in May. At the groundbreaking ceremony, Troy Aikman and Dirk Nowitzki, both champion athletes and champions for children, joined in the historic gift announcement.
