What your donation to Legacy of Love Supports
Our community in North Texas is fortunate to have world-class pediatric care right in our backyard at Children’s Medical Center Plano. As one of the largest pediatric healthcare providers in the nation, Children’s Health cares for nearly 271,000 patients annually and provides over $30.3 million in charity care. This is a powerful time of expansion for Children’s Medical Center Plano. What was already the region’s first full-service pediatric hospital north of Dallas has, as of the December tower expansion, doubled in size and tripled in bed capacity. The eight-story, 395,000-square-foot campus expansion rivals pediatric hospitals across our region and neighboring states in size, leading-edge technology and clinical capabilities.
Serving as ambassadors, volunteers and fundraisers for Children's Health, the Women’s Auxiliary is dedicated to making life better for children. Our steadfast support and unbreakable commitment provide numerous uplifting activities for patients, their families, and appreciation for their dedicated hospital staff. Our efforts are making a significant impact on aspects of healthcare including mental health initiatives, the beloved pet therapy program, neonatal care services, and social work. Together, we are raising a solid awareness of this stellar hospital throughout the community and beyond. This support is accomplished through community fundraisers such as Legacy of Love, and we are so proud to have given back $2 million to the Plano campus over the past 15 years.

The Women's Auxiliary to Children's Medical Center
The Women’s Auxiliary to Children’s Medical Center was formed in 1962 by combining the auxiliaries from Bradford Memorial Hospital for Babies, Children’s Hospital of Texas and Richmond Freeman Memorial Clinic. In the very early days, Auxiliary volunteers assisted hospital staff in all aspects of running the hospital, from helping with admitting patients and running samples to the lab, to assisting physicians.
As Children’s Medical Center grew, so did the unwavering support of the Women’s Auxiliary. Today, two strong Auxiliary chapters support Children's HealthSM mission to make life better for children at the Dallas and Plano campuses. To continue its tradition and rich history of service, the Auxiliary carries out this mission by raising funds for hospital priorities, offering uplifting activities for patient families, providing support and recognition to hospital staff, and raising awareness of Children's Health in the community.
The Women's Auxiliary celebrates over 60 years of service and over 1,000 members dedicated to serving the patients and families treated at Children's. Since its inception, the Auxiliary has contributed nearly $29 million to Children’s Health.
