Spieth Family Foundation

On her middle finger, Annie Spieth wears a gold hammered band as a daily reminder of her close friend and her journey with pediatric cancer at Children’s Health.

Now, Annie and her husband, Jordan – who also had a childhood friend that faced cancer – are investing in a long-lasting way to honor their childhood friends and their varying experiences with pediatric cancer, with a goal to ultimately find cures.

This year, the couple established a $250,000 endowment from the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation to advance pediatric cancer research and childhood outcomes at Children’s Health. This is the first endowment gift from the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation.

I was inspired by my friend, what she went through and the ripple effect of how many people were impacted by her loss. Ultimately, the goal is to eradicate cancer, and we understand the best way to tackle that is to pour into organizations like Children’s Health that are experts at research.

At Children’s Health, philanthropy supports researchers’ efforts to better understand diseases, chronic conditions and injuries within new areas of research not presently funded by external entities. These discoveries also can lead to the development of new medicines, treatments or approaches to caring for patients.

Each year, there are thousands of active research studies at Children’s Health that impact the lives of patient families. For many of these children, research is their last hope for the treatment of their illnesses.

The Jordan Spieth Family Foundation offers a platform for PGA Tour player Jordan Spieth and his family to lend time, help grow awareness and offer financial support for four philanthropic areas: individuals with special needs, junior golf, military families and veterans, and pediatric cancer. Children’s Health is one of the 2025 beneficiaries within their pediatric cancer pillar.

For years, the family’s foundation has funded programs that offer direct care and support –such as child life services and avenues to overcome financial burdens – for families and kids with cancer at Children’s Health.

In 2022, the couple made a meaningful donation to support the expansion of Children’s Medical Center Plano with a focus on pediatric oncology.

The endowment allows the family to invest long-term in the health and lives of kids diagnosed with cancer. Annie and Jordan have children of their own and envision utilizing

the endowment in lieu of birthday gifts to rally their friends, family and community behind a place that has impacted their lives since they were teenagers.

We are fortunate to live in a city where we have a hospital like Children’s Health in our backyard. Jordan and I grew up in a community where giving back is what you did, so giving to Children’s Health makes sense to us. It’s an incredible institution and it’s here for everyone.
