CRI Pioneer Receives One of the Highest Medical Honors

The National Academy of Medicine (NAM) elected Sean Morrison, Ph.D., to join its organization. Dr. Morrison, Director of Children’s Medical Center Research Institute (CRI) at UT Southwestern, is recognized for significant discoveries in stem cell biology and cancer.

We were thrilled to have Miss America, Miss America’s Outstanding Teen and Miss Texas visit patients and their families last month. The Miss America Organization raises awareness and funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals helping make kids’ dreams come true.

Batting Away Cancer with Katie

Katie Thomson was one of the first patients in the nation to try a new innovation in clinical research earlier this year, and it worked; it saved her life. To celebrate, Katie threw out the first pitch at a Texas Rangers baseball game.
