Children's Cancer Fund - 30 Year Celebration

Children’s Cancer Fund raises $1.2 million

The 30th anniversary celebration of the Children’s Cancer Fund gala was the most successful on record, raising more than $1.2 million to support pediatric cancer research and treatment programs at Children’s Health and UT Southwestern Medical Center. It was also the first time in the event’s history that an in-memoriam video did not have to be shown honoring a child who had previously participated as a runway model.

This year, 22 boys and girls, ages 5 to 15, matched with celebrity escorts lit up the runway in their fashions provided by Dillard’s for a star-studded fashion show. Longtime co-chairs Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman were among the celebrities escorting oncology patients. They were joined by Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, firefighters, Dallas SWAT officers, Belle of Beauty and the Beast, Batman, Candice and Tony Romo, and Dak Prescott, among many others.

Kendra Scott Sweet 16 Birthday Bash

How sweet it is to make a difference

Kendra Scott turns 16 this year, and four Dallas-area stores will be celebrating on June 16 with all-day Sweet 16 birthday parties. Through a partnership with Children’s Miracle Network, 20 percent of proceeds from the day’s sales at the West Village, Preston Center, Allen and Plano stores will be donated to Children’s Health.

Kendra Scott associates have been extra busy this spring hosting a pop-up shop inside the hospital at Children’s Medical Center Dallas, treating nurses to special experiences, mobilizing the Color Bar engagement for patients attending Patient Prom, serving breakfast and providing a respite for pediatric ICU parents, and treating moms to a Mother’s Day gift tied back to the Kendra Cares Program.
