Message From Our President

I am beyond honored to serve as the 2019-2020 president of the Women’s Auxiliary to Children’s Medical Center Dallas.  It truly is an amazing place that is very near to my heart and I know many of you have experienced it first-hand as well.  For more than 105 years, the mission of Children’s Health has been to make life better for children.  In fact, last year Children’s served nearly 300,000 patients.  Since 1962, the Auxiliary has proudly served alongside Children’s to support patients and their families.

The Women’s Auxiliary supports the critical needs of the hospital by raising funds to help Children’s provide the best care possible.  The Auxiliary has several highly anticipated fundraisers throughout the year, including the Breakfast with Santa Spectacular, Family Night at Six Flags, Sundaes on Sunday at American Girl, Boo Yard Sign Challenge, Change for Children’s and the holiday and all-occasion card programs, which are successful because of the incredible support of our community and members.  We always are looking for volunteers to help with these amazing events, as well as with our other programs to support the Children’s staff, patients and families.  You can deliver treats for staff appreciation, serve meals on Mother’s Day weekend and New Year’s Eve to families of patients and decorate the hospital halls with holiday wreaths and trees to spread holiday cheer.  As you can see there are many opportunities to get involved, and we’d be delighted for you to join us!  In addition to fundraising and volunteering, we have two general membership meetings, featuring expert speakers from Children’s who share the most current information on many important topics.

In 2018-2019, the Women’s Auxiliary raised nearly $680,000 to support crucial programs, such as the Heart Center, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Extracorporeal Membranous Oxygenation (ECMO) Program, Car Seat Safety, Pet Therapy and the Women’s Auxiliary Scholarship Fund. The Auxiliary also made a $1 million commitment to support the expansion and renovation of the Emergency Room at Children’s Dallas to be funded over the next few years, and we fulfilled our final commitment to the Dallas Women’s Auxiliary Endowment, reaching $1.5 million which supports Family Support Services.

We can’t wait for you to get involved in the Women’s Auxiliary.  Please take a minute to browse our website to learn more about our fundraisers and activities.  We invite you to come tour the hospital, serve on a committee, volunteer at Children’s, make a donation or shop at the hospital gift shop.  As you can see, there are many ways for you to get involved and show your support! I very much look forward to working with each of you this upcoming year to continue the legacy of the Women’s Auxiliary as a great supporter of Children’s.  Thank you in advance for your commitment and support!
