Children's became a reality in 1929 when Tom L. Bradford, Sr. donated $100,000 to build a baby hospital in Dallas. Mr. Bradford never could have imagined the countless lives that his gift would touch, nor could the others who have given so generously of their resources throughout the years.
Their legacies have endured. The successor to Bradford Memorial Hospital for Babies—the first baby hospital in the United States south of St. Louis—is today one of the most respected pediatric health care facilities in the country, providing care for more than 350,000 children each year. Four generations of Bradfords have contributed to the hospital's development, and their support continues today.
The Bradford Society recognizes those who embrace the mission and work of Children's by naming the hospital as a beneficiary in their personal financial and estate plans.
