Well-known for supplying everything needed to make Halloween extra spooky, Spirit Halloween also strives to make children’s hospitals less scary for young patients. The nationwide retail store of Halloween costumes and decorations supports children’s hospitals across the U.S., but few regions compare to the generosity of the North Texas stores. Dallas-area stores recently donated nearly $128,500 to Children’s Medical Center. Spirit’s total giving to Children’s since 2008 is now $788,690.
All the funds go to Child Life programs that make kids’ hospitalizations easier. Their most recent funding helped fund music therapy and a support program for cystic fibrosis patients. To celebrate their namesake holiday with children, Spirit Halloween also hosts an annual party at the hospital with Halloween music, games, crafts, goodie bags and free costumes for patients and their siblings.
