Granite Properties has been a dedicated supporter of Children’s for 15 years. The Plano-based commercial real estate company has participated in a variety of Children’s events, including sponsorship of the Red Balloon Run & Ride, for which its team has consistently led the way in fundraising efforts year after year by asking vendors and tenants to join them in supporting Children’s Health. They raised nearly $22,700 for Children’s at the 2016 Run & Ride. Granite Properties tripled its sponsorship of Children’s annual Radiothon to $15,000 and had its company volunteers take call-in donations at the Radiothon phone bank. Granite Properties also makes an annual donation that makes a party for patients possible each year. Employee volunteers, or “Graniteers” as they are known, host the theme parties, which have included an art party and a superhero party.
Granite Properties CEO Michael Dardick served on the Children’s Health System of Texas board and now serves as the board chairman of the governing body of Children’s Medical Center Plano, the hospital for which he chaired the steering committee to raise funds for its initial construction.
