Red Balloon Run & Ride | April 22, 2017
Each Spring the Women’s Auxiliary forms a team for the annual Red Balloon Run & Ride benefiting Children’s Medical Center. This signature community event offers a 5K run, 1K family fun run and various bike rides at Children’s Medical Center Plano.
In 2016, over 15,000 people attended the Red Balloon Run & Ride and enjoyed event attractions including the Health Expo, Family Fun Zone and Food Zone. This year, the Women’s Auxiliary to Children’s Medical Center Plano is supporting the new Children’s Health Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. We can make a difference by raising much needed funds to support cutting edge research to improve lives. Click here to join our team or donate to our cause. And, don’t forget to tell your friends!
Special thanks to Nebraska Furniture Mart Texas and Good Life Family Magazine for their support of the Women’s Auxiliary team!
Change for Children's
Change for Children’s is a simple but powerful program that supports Children's Medical Center, teaches our children the importance of giving back to their community and heightens their awareness of the needs of others.
Each year, the Women's Auxiliary to Children's teams up with community schools and organizations to promote the Change for Children's programs. As a part of this campaign, Auxiliary volunteers work with Children's to identify a funding priority and then provide students official Change for Children's boxes encouraging them to come up with creative ways to collect change from family, friends and neighbors.
Your next opportunity to support the Auxiliary’s Change for Children’s campaign will be during the Holiday Lights at Deerfield in Plano, Texas.
Patient Support is a program dedicated to helping patients and their families be as comfortable as possible during their stay at Children’s Plano.
Patient Support volunteers help patients celebrate holidays at the hospital by collecting special treats and delivering goody bags to each floor. The Auxiliary also hosts blanket making days so that area kids can make complimentary fleece blankets for patients at Children’s Plano. There are so many ways to make a difference!
